The Mentorship Programme provides a link between freshers and Year 2 & 3 students. Through organising various activities, we hope to enhance a more cohesive relationship between the mentors and mentees.
Being a fresher, apart from feeling excited and anxious about the new university life, there are also a lot of queries on issues like accommodation, transportation, social life, assignments, exams, etc. Even the tiniest things for instance, which supermarket got better meat, may concern you. Therefore, in order to make them settle into the new environment quickly and at ease, this programme will link them up with a Year 2 or Year 3 Hong Kong student who is doing same or similar courses. They will guide the freshers through the first few weeks of university and to answer questions them have.
For the mentee… The programme helps you to settle in and become familiar with university life. The mentors are your friends, your buddies to accompany and support you through your first year. They will advice you on various issues, and are ready to answer every question you have.
For the mentor... This programme allows you to gain friendships with our new members. Your job is to assist them by sharing your invaluable experiences of academic work, accommodation, finance, societies…basically every aspects of university life! Make them feel welcome and involved at Warwick!
Throughout the year, the programme will organise activities like gathering dinners and housing talk, so that all mentors and mentees can meet up as a group.
